You can have a look at the classroom's and therapy centres, thereby saving yourself the time and effort to set up individual appointments. It's your chance to stop problems before they arise At parents evening you can get a well rounded picture of who will be working with your child. You can get an idea of some of the situations your child will be exposed to, and if they are going to cause any problems.
This is your chance for these problems to be discussed, before your child goes back to school. Although parents evening id all about putting the best-food-forward, if you look hard enough, you can see where the cracks may be. On arrival you will be given a plan of the rooms for the evening, telling you where staff are located. Each slot is 5 minutes long which allows for about a three — four minutes discussion and then some travel time. We have asked staff to stick to these times.
We recommend you leave a gap of 5 minutes between each appointment so that you have time to move from one room to another. Work out which communications channels they are most likely to respond to and use them. This information can be presented to parents before the meeting. Focus the meeting on how to take things forward.
